Martha Lane Fox: Tech entrepreneur and Twitter board member
Episode 15 of 'Can I ask you a personal question?'
Greetings and Happy New Year.
Following a break over Christmas, we today put out the latest edition (episode 5, series 2) of the ‘Can I ask you a personal question?’ podcast.
This week, our guest is Martha Lane Fox, or Baroness Lane-Fox of Soho, to give her formal title.
It’s available on Apple, Spotify, Google and every other major podcast platform.
Martha co-founded Lastminute.com at the age of 25.
In 2004, when she was about to start a new role as the CEO of Selfridges after having left her business, Martha was involved in a devastating car crash while on holiday in Morocco. It’s a harrowing tale. Martha tells us how she broke 28 bones and had a stroke after the accident.
Remarkably, after having to spend two years in hospital, Martha recovered to continue her rise to the top of the business world.
Today, she is on the board of Twitter, she is the co-founder and chairman of karaoke firm Lucky Voice, and she also chairs tech startup WeTransfer.
Away from business, Martha became the youngest female member of the House of Lords in 2013, and she is also today the chancellor of the Open University.
We hope you enjoy listening to our conversation with Martha. Please, as ever, consider leaving us a review or rating on Apple Podcasts.
