Mark Dixon: from sandwich salesman to global CEO
Episode 12 of the 'Can I ask you a personal question?' podcast
Greetings.
Today marks the release of the 12th episode (episode two, series two) of the ‘Can I ask you a personal question?’ podcast.
Our latest guest is Mark Dixon, the Monaco-based founder and chief executive of shared office giant IWG.
Mark started his entrepreneurial life as a teenager selling cardboard in Essex. He then moved on to sandwiches. And then burgers. And then encyclopedias. Mark eventually settled on selling shared office space, and this is where he really made his name.
Today, IWG (formerly known as Regus) is a FTSE 250 company, valued at more than £3bn, with operations in more than 100 countries across the world.
In this episode, as well as talking us through his inspiring story to the top of British business, we also chat to Mark about his biggest fear (spoiler alert: he doesn’t have one), his biggest regret (ditto), and fist-bumping.
Enjoy! And please leave us a rating or review on Apple Podcasts – it will take you ten seconds and really helps us out.
P.S. In case you missed it, our previous episode (featuring Jimmy Mulville) made headlines in the Sunday Telegraph (page three!), Mail Online and the Spectator.
