Jimmy Mulville: Have I got a personal question for you
Entrepreneur podcast 'Can I ask you a personal question?' returns for series two
Hello, and welcome to the second series of the entrepreneur interview podcast, ‘Can I ask you a personal question?’
To mark the occasion, we’ve had a newsletter redesign and shifted on to Substack, which is a very trendy blog/ newsletter site from Silicon Valley.
Our first guest of series two is Jimmy Mulville, the managing director and co-founder of Hat Trick Productions. You might not have heard of Hat Trick, but you’ll have watched some of its programming – Have I Got News For You, Outnumbered, Derry Girls and Mastermind, to name a few.
Jimmy, a Liverpool-born Cambridge graduate, makes for a lively guest and doesn’t shy away from personal questions (phew).
In the episode (which is available on all major podcast platforms including Apple, Google and Spotify), he opens up about his troubles with cocaine and alcohol, as well as being labelled a “failed comic”.
He also has some strong views on “the wokeness” afflicting broadcasters, which he feels is cramping creativity in his industry.
Listen to the very end of the episode for a very disturbing anecdote about a trip Jimmy took to Vancouver in 1990… 🙉
We’ll be releasing an uncut/ unedited version of our interview with Jimmy next week for hardcore fans. Future guests include Mark Dixon, Sir Lloyd Dorfman, Martin Gilbert and Baroness (Martha) Lane Fox.
Thank you for reading.
