Andrew Bloch: PR guru and adviser to Lord Sugar
Episode 16 of the 'Can I ask you a personal question?' podcast
Today marks the release of the 16th (series 2, episode 6) edition of the ‘Can I ask you a personal question?’ podcast. Listen on Apple, Spotify, Google or wherever else you get your podcasts.
Our interviewee this week is Andrew Bloch, the co-founder of PR firm Frank, which he led as managing partner until last year. Andrew’s clients include billionaire entrepreneur Lord Sugar, and Frank has represented some of Britain’s biggest brands.
In this episode, Andrew talks us through his rise to the top of the PR game and hands out some free advice for how entrepreneurs should deal with the media.
A storyteller by trade, Andrew also shares details of some of the raucous PR parties he has attended, talks about being "bollocked" by Lord Sugar, and shares his best anecdote (featuring Helena Christensen and Kelly Brook).
P.S. If you are new to the ‘Can I ask you a personal question?’ podcast, here are some reasons we think you should start listening:
We interview some of the most successful and inspiring entrepreneurs and leaders in the UK (past guests include Peter Hargreaves, Charlie Mullins, Gina Miller, Spencer Matthews and Martha Lane-Fox).
As our name suggests, we ask personal questions of our guests and keep our conversations informal, leading (we hope) to fun, interesting and original insights into our interviewees.
Our professionally-produced interviews are edited down to 30 minutes or less – so they don’t take up much of your day. (We also release ‘uncut’ episodes for those who are interested in hearing more.)
P.P.S. If you enjoy the podcast, please consider leaving us a review on Apple Podcasts. Or even better, share the podcast (or this newsletter) with friends or via social media.
P.P.P.S. We’re in the process of setting up our next set of episodes. If you know of anyone who would make an interesting interviewee, please get in touch.
P.P.P.P.S. (Last one, I promise.) Our previous interview, with tech entrepreneur Martha Lane-Fox, was mentioned in the prestigious Sunday Times business section last weekend.
